In 2022, over 39.6 million breast exams were conducted, as reported by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) program. As of January 2023, there are 8,808 certified breast imaging facilities and more than 24,500 accredited mammography systems across the United States.
